Yes, I am still on Hoi An.
We saw these gigantic plastic-floaty swans along the river at Hoi An Town one evening which were really old-school. And liking all things old-schooled, I had the impulsive urge to jump into one and paddle the night away. The swans were practically mocking me with their blinking eyes. I made the resolution to paddle in one the next time I come into town.
That same impulse wavered when I next saw the swans in the daytime. It was low tide and you can see and smell the compose floating alongside with the swans in the river. With their necks leashed to the jetty, the poor fellows looked kind of sad. It is true that things look better in the dark.
