Pie Pie Baby

I love pies. Eating them, baking them, dissecting their fillings… so I got really enthusiastic when a new pie shop opened near my home.

I was even more excited when I realised it was not a pie franchise from some AM country but truly a locally born and bred business idea. All this from just its namesake.

I was so amused I had to bring Sixth Sense to check out the shop. She was equally tickled when we spotted its email address simidaiji@piekia.sg.

The only clue given to the brains behind this ingenuity is this manga version of Pie Kia Shop’s owner/chef spotted on their packaging, complete with dyed streaks and an earring.

So if you are ever around my area, do check out their Toa Pie Kia (big pies with crumbly crust, just the sort I would like to perfect), regular Pie Kia (smaller pies with a flaky crust, picture below) or their Pie Seh (fruity dessert pies). And of course Sixth Sense had to add her 2-cents worth and came up with a Hokkien colloquial playing on the word “pie” for another range of pies they can start. But it would just be rude to print the name here.

What a cool food shop name.
At least the pies were good, so you don't just look at the name of the shop, take photo then run - like Bread Pitt.
I must be extremly blur about the other 'pie'...
I suppose Mello's Dip Chip Shop wouldn't be half bad eh.

another hint for the name: chicken would be an ideal filling.
